Japanese Government Not to Reissue Softbank License

The Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced on May 17 that it does not plan to issue a new license for mobile communications services. Softbank returned its newly acquired license to the ministry after it acquired Vodafone KK, but the ministry stated that it is not looking for new candidates to redistribute the license.
